A New Link

I have mentioned in the past that we have been blessed with meeting many wonderful people. Margaret and Mike are two of those people and guess what?! They have a blog! Go over and check it out! Read about their life below the Gnat Line and life with their cute little baby, Alan!

Happy Baptism Day, MyChia

Today is Caecilia’s Baptism Day! We celebrate them pretty big here. I am making her a saint coloring book for a gift and for dinner she is getting her favorite, Chicken nuggets and french fries. I will probably make Coleslaw too. She has candy from yesterday to feast on for dessert.

St. Nicholas!

Well, what do you know, the Faceparents (uh, myself and Joshua) got it together to have things ready for St. Nicholas Day before we went to bed last night. We hung stockings filled with a bit of candy (even for Benedict) and a small toy or game for each of them. We woke up early this morning to make breakfast so we could enjoy it as a family. We made pancakes and served them with fresh applesauce and whipped cream.  I made a pot of Mystic Monk Coffee and had a mug of it with half and half then topped it with whipped cream. I was in heaven. (No I was not counting calories)

The kids slept until close to 730, Joshua had to go up and wake three of them up to come and eat. My kids are usually the ones up at 702 and ready for breakfast. Karol was the first to spy the stockings and they were very excited to dig in to them, even Benedict. After breakfast and schoolwork, Karol asked to listen to some music, so I put on some Sandra Boynton and Veggie Tales and the kids have been dancing all morning and now afternoon.

Tonight is baked potato soup and garlic toast (if I get up and bake the bread).

Happy Feast Day!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window… partly sunny and warm, 75, heading up to 80!

I am thinking… that I am glad the dishes are done from lunch and that dinner is mostly prepared! I am also thinking Caecilia being three. It seems the older two grew up quickly but Caecilia has actually had a toddler stage and is still in it. I love my little Caecilia.

I am thankful for… the wonderful community we have found here in South Georgia, for the friends we have made at church, for our parish with a faithful priest

From the learning rooms… oh, wow, lots of things. We have reintroduced math after taking a break and for a while. Karol is still struggling with it, but this time, I think it comes from all the writing he has to do. With most other subjects, we are almost done with the third quarter, so I suppose I should look at second grade curriculum soon.

From the kitchen… fried talapia and rice for dinner tonight with a lemon sauce.

I am wearing… black pants and a green teeshirt, white socks.

I am going… no where today, but this week is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, so we will be heading to Mass that day and our parish pot luck after.

I am reading… nothing. This is kinda sad isn’t it? In my defense, I am doing an awesome Jesse Tree this year with the kids and that is a lot of reading in the evening.

I am hearing… the door beeping as the kids go outside to play. Also, semis going up and down the road, hauling cabbage and pecans.
One of my favorite things… quiet afternoons when the two youngest take long naps!

Around the house…things are pretty clean…I say that then I remember a certain three year old painted on the bathroom mirror with soap. But hey, the laundry is done and folded.

A few plans for the rest of the week: St. Nicholas Day is tomorrow, gotta get some candy out for that, Caecilia’s baptism day is Wednesday, getting a picture of St. Cecilia framed for her,  Feast of the Immaculate Conception is on Thursday (already mentioned). Ahh, I think we will relax on Friday!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing…
